Rokker XT-P 250W 2CH Amp

Has anyone installed a JAMP-250HC14P J&M ROKKER® XT-P 250w 2-CH Amplifier on there 2014 SG? I've been looking at this unit & would like to hear from someone that had it on there bike. Want to know if there was a big improvement over stock the radio? I have a stock 4.3 radio in my SG now.

Well I went ahead and pulled trigger and ordered the JAMP-250HC14P. Now I'll have to wait until it gets here, install it and see for myself if there is a big improvement over stock the radio.

I see on J&M SITE its $600 but on amazon its $479

Just the Amp. Maybe I will upgrade the speakers later. Yes from Amazon, only 1 left at the $479.95 price, called JM Corp and the were only offering a 10% discount Amazon was 20%.
Estimated delivery date is Feb 10-13th

Don't forget, when adding speakers, amp, J&M or HD headset connector you WILL have to get HD service to update your radio firmware on a FLHXS.

As soon as i get the cash I'm going with j@m the hd upgrade i was told the volume doesn't really get that much louder, just a more crisp clear sound.

These new ROKKER XT -P series amplifiers are now fully programmable thru the internal digital signal processor (DSP) and come out of the box already dialed in for this specific StreetGlide/Ultra speaker configuration, to provide maximum highway performance from your Harley Davidson audio system.

Should you wish to alter these settings (as when adding additional speakers to the system, or changing the impedance of the speakers), J&M will be offering all of our specific custom pre-loaded amplifier programs as a consumer download from the J&M website @ www.jmcorp.com.

Not so my friend. For Street Glides w/6.5 Boombox . . . . . *
Harley forces you to do a flash radio firmware upgrade IF you add speakers, an amp or a Headset control cable for the 6.5 Boom Box. I was ticked that they wouldn't just have it already in ANY Boombox 6.5 already. Service writer told me it's designed that way for profit$$$$ just like the new Quick release Tour Pak kit. They could have made it $tandard a$ well.

P 599 in the 2014 Motor P&A book, right side bottom:
"Dealer Digital Technician Software update is required"

* Software IS turned on in Ultras already

Understood, I was at the dealer today to get a clarification on this . . . twice.
Could be J&M installed one or is thinking of the Boombox on the Ultra whereby the update is included on that model.

This is 1 time I would prefer to be wrong I assure you!

I just ordered a JAMP 250HC14p amp for my 2014 Street Glide with standard 4.3 radio & stock speakers. A question came up on StreetGlide.com. The question is do I need to do any Harley firmware updates? Also if I upgrade to the 6.5 Boom speakers or your new speakers when they come out will I need to do a Harley firmware upgrade?
It is my understanding that with the internal digital signal processor (DSP) I won’t have to do any Harley firmware upgrades. If I make changes all I have to do is buy your DSP programming dongle & download the correct software program from you. Please let me know.

You are correct ,,, you do NOT need the Harley firmware updates when using any of the 'J&M equipment, or as you change speakers, whether Harley Boom speakers, or the new 'J&M ROKKERs ,,,,,,,,

Once you have the 'J&M programming dongle, you can alter your amp settings anytime you find it necessary, with downloads from the 'J&M website ,,,,,,,

Please let me know how the system sounds when you get the amp installed ,,,,,,

Also ,,, so as this does not get confusing ,,,,,,,,,,

You can always use the Harley Radio USB thumb drive software upgrades, available from the Harley website, to upgrade many items inside the radio itself, without any effect on your 'J&M amplifier/or audio system performance ,,,,,

Just don't confuse these Harley upgrades from their website, with the software FLASH's that are being performed by the dealer, when they install the Harley Boom amplifier kit ,,,,,,,,

And even IF your dealer were to flash your radio for the Harley boom amp, without your knowledge, it would not affect the sound or performance of your 'J&M amp or audio system ,,,,,, this whole pile of rumors that are circulating around are really getting out of hand with miss-information ,,,,,,

I looked at both You Tube vids that were posted. Both show the mods being made to a 2014 Ultra Limited. This model has ALL keys activated in the software as delivered by HD. The Street Glide Special with 6.5 Boom Box does not. According to 2 different dealer service departments, Keys for extra speakers, add on Amp and headset have to be turned on and upgraded by Harley.
I would rather be wrong than right about this, please let us know how this turns out my friend.

I just successfully loaded the new Boombox 1.17.4 firmware on the radio as well.
