Has anyone installed a light kit on the Air Wing Detachable luggage rack. (2014 SG) Instructions say rear lighting connector is under seat. I cannot locate one there or in the side panels of the bike. Any help will be appreciated

I recently installed one on my 2012 and it took me a bit to find that connector myself but eventually found it. If i remember right it wasn't in the exact location that it showed on the instructions. So just dig a little more and you should find it!
Hope this helps..

Finally found it, it was on top left, dark connector attached to an inline harness. I was looking for a freestanding connector. Had to get a Y cable adapter that connect both ends of the harness and one connector for the light. HD part #69200772 about $18.

I had the setup on my 2011 RK and transferred them to my new SGS. The connector wasn't compatible and it was always too dim anyway. So, after I added the Custom Dynamic LED turn-tail lights I decided not to buy a new one and the Y connector.

Yo Powell - -

I just installed the light on my '14 last week. Gotta tell ya, maybe I got spoiled with the Custom Dynamics LEDs after installing their turn signals and run/brake/turns on my Heritage, but after I installed this on the new Street Glide ... not impressed with the output. It's a little dim for what I expected. But, it does fit nice on the rack. I used the smoked lens. Looks good, actually looks great. The light output though, leaves a little to be desired.

Anyway, you're looking for where the pigtail goes. And I had the same question myself after taking off the seat and looking at the instruction diagram. The plug you want is actually the one that is mounted on the bracket (#2 as it is indicated in the diagram, if memory serves). It is the OUTSIDE plug. Following the wire towards the rear of the bike you'll see that this harness disappears behind the left side plate. To verify, just unplug it and you'll see that your rear run/brake lights are disconnected.

To attach the new pigtail provided in the kit, if you remove the existing plug you'll see it is held in place with a nylon barbed insert. That insert can be removed and re-attached to the new pigtail connector, then re-inserted where the factory plug was removed. Follow? Helps keep things tidy under the seat. And there is enough room to push the tail end of the factory harness down towards the fender without interference.

If you follow this, cool. If necessary I could post some pics.

Btw, I also ended up spending about an hour (I'm slow) trimming wire lengths and picking at the pins to get it just right. Actually a pita. Worth it though in my book.

Happy trails man

I should add also I had the RED led kit and as you said it's not very bright at all.

And this is just in the garage under fluorescent. Bright sunlight and I think it might not do much at all. Weak.

So here's off, running lights, and brake.2014-03-30_16-52-21_730[1].jpg2014-03-30_16-52-52_876[1].jpg2014-03-30_16-53-56_451[1].jpg

Mojo- I like you're upgrade list so far. Agree that tri bar brake is the schnizzle. I had to go for the rack light mostly cuz it looked unfinished to me. Definitely going to give CD more of money too, frt and rear turns. At least with the '14s we don't need equalizers, triple play, etc. Just plug and play on the LEDs.

Btw, recognize the name from that 'other' HD forum.

Hi guy's. I already have racks on my hard bags. Will the air wings fit on them or do you have to buy the racks with them already on form HD?
