I know this question has been ask before but I cant seem to find it . I am looking at a 2009 street glide and I would be interested in upgrading the engine . Can someone please tell me the best way to upgrade the 96" motor and get the most bang for the buck ? I don't want to tear the motor completely apart . I looked in the Harley parts book and it appears the 110 kit actually doesn't increase the hp and torque as much as the 103 . I don't think I want to go with anything but Harley parts if for no other reason than resale when I trade . If anyone can help ,Thanks in advance

I did some cams an new rods on mine.
But will eventually do the 107.

Depending on your location fuel Moto has a great 107 package. A lot of people take their bikes to Jamie and stay over night and then their done. He's in Wisconsin.

You can also buy his 107 package and install it yourself but you would have to have it tuned.

He has a face book page if you are on face book. If you call him ask for Jamie a tell him Bill from streetglide.com sent you and you want the best deal.

Good luck!

You say you don't want to tear the engine apart and get the most bang for your buck so if you mean least expensive I'd forget the big bore and do a stage 1 type air cleaner/filter, less restrictive slip on mufflers of your choice, a change of cams/adjustable pushrods and a powercommander or similar device and of course have it tuned by someone competent. This will be the least expensive way to get some decent hp/torque. If you buy the PC from Fuel Moto they will provide a map for your components that will get you up and running till you get a good tune.

Now if you want to spend some more dough then go with a full exhaust and big bore and as Bill suggested you can't go wrong with a power package from Jamie. There are other options including things like headwork etc. that will give even more. It all depends on your desires and depth of your pockets.

Also I doubt very much your resale will be affected by non-Harley parts. I have done engine upgrades on my bikes using both Harley and non-Harley stuff. Come trade-in time they don't give much for upgrades either way in my experience. Good luck and have fun.
