So how many are at 25k and have either done or had the bearings serviced as recommended?

I am at 25k now and if I am going to take them out to inspect and repack, I am thinking for the $40 I am just going to replace and repack.

Thoughts and input appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I haven't done it, but seems that if you're doing it yourself, replacing is rather inexpensive and is much easier.

I would be interested in hearing about when you do this. I am at 17,500 miles, so won't happen for awhile, but it seems like just getting to the bearings is a tremendous effort. I have had the fairing pulled up and tilted towards front to adjust my bars and that's quite a bit. Does the fairing and all front end pieces have to be removed to replace head bearings? What type of bearings will you use to replace the OEMs? Is there a sealed bearing you can get that you install only once? I'm curious as it would seem that this would be a $750+ job at my dealer.

Yes really not thrilled that Harley in their infinite wisdom(SARCASM) decided to remove the zerk fitting they used to have. Or like you mentioned why not use a sealed bearing if possible?

Will provide an update once completed.
