Hello,
I currently use a half helmet and a full face helmet. I have not ridden my SG with the full face yet. So I'm wondering those of you that wear a full face helmet; Is there any increase in bobble head? What brand do you wear?

Thanks.
John.

I wear a full face helmet, since I have a huge melon Shoei is the only one that makes a helmet that fits the shape of my head without headache..... :)

Kind of pricey but I have tried other brands and everyone of those size 3XL gave me headache after 5-10 minutes into rides......

I actually just purchased a couple this winter and I like both. I bought a Bell Rogue....it's more like a 3/4 helmet with a face mask...looks cool to me!! I also just got a full face rubotone Alliance Icon Helmet for about 150 bucks. Great helmet for the price. I am having difficulties getting it on and off without breaking an ear, literally...it's tough but they say it will break in and I surely hope so as I am about to leave for Bike Week in Daytona in just a couple weeks and wanted to wear the full face for interstate driving!!

SHOEI RF1200. If it's good enough for MotoGP and World SBK riders that do 220 on the straights and 60 degree lean angles with elbows dragging, it'll hopefully work for me at 116 on my SGS should I need it.
I've ALWAYS worn a quality F/F helmet. 1/2 helmets are only half as good. Even "MY" goofy little pea brain deserves more than half.
Having worked TRAFFIC HOMICIDE in a major metro area for a number of years, I've investigated my share of fatal & near fatal m/c crashes (THEY'RE NOT ACCIDENTS!).

Good helmets work!
DOT is one thing, but SNELL FOUNDATION certification is very important to me.

*Having a decent windscreen on your touring model should all but eliminate "bobblehead" as you call it.
A quality F/F helmet has way more aero ability than a half or three quarter helmet. Most have excellent flow thru ventilation to keep your head cool and even have adjustable face shield settings to allow a slight opening where shield seals at lower edge.

Don't be afraid to pull both chin straps apart as you are putting on/off, that's the problem with a lot of folks, they are not pulling the straps far enough where helmet literally ripping both ears off......my helmet will do the same if I don't pull the straps apart though it's 2 years old.

Recently purchased an HJC IS-MAX II modular primarily for early season riding when the temps are still cold. I worn a shoei full face years back and never experienced any increased head movement resulting from the helmet. The modular design is a terrific feature over a full face and it also helps putting it on and taking it off.

I always wear full face. I cannot understand not wearing a helmet but to each there own. I prefer Shoei but have also had Aria. They are not cheap for the better fit and feeling but truly how much is your melon worth.

A half helmet is only half the protection. I have seen a lot of face and jaw injuries from those. A scull beanie, well that's just enough to pass helmet laws... Sometimes.

It also gives me a place to have my mic etc... for our bike to bike stuff.

Plus... You look cool when the girls are lookin at ya!!

I use a Shoei Neotec modular. Like others have said, pricey but is well made and fits the shape of my head. Always risk involved, how much are you willing to accept? In the event of a crash there's a good chance your face may be involved. How much do you like your face?? Again personal choice.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will give that a try!!

Thanks everyone.

I'm searching for my FF now, may even consider a modular too (or both).

I actually have two FF but their "out of date" so to speak.

I'm considering a Schuberth; will also check out Shoei, Nolan too.

Thanks !!

Designflaw: that pic was really cool for sure!

I used to wear a KBC what a POS. It did not vent well and the buffeting was horrible

Now I wear a Aria signet Q. I love it. Vents like no other and no buffeting.

I have 2 helmets. Shoei Neotech "flip up" for the highway and once I get to where I want to be, I wear a Shoei RJ Platinum.

Around town, I wear the RJ.

I had a couple Nolan's, which are good helmets but I can't wear them as I get that claustrophobic feeling...Haven't found a 3/4 that I like thats not dastardly expensive....

For now, I have a Scorpion half and a couple Harley half's.....

I currently use the Bell "Bane" style helmet. On my old bike and i tried to use on this bike, a full face Scorpion EXO1000, I found even with ear plugs the bike was so laud in this helmet I dont know why, it just killed me going from San Diego to LA. I also have a brain bucket.
