I see that you have Charlotte, NC on your route....word of caution, say out of the city area around rush hour (morning & evening) or you'll be doing a lot of sitting in traffic in VERY high temps / humidity.

Enjoy the trip and ride safe!!

Leave LA early, very early in the morning...otherwise the ride up I-15 through Baker to Vegas will be roasting, even in June. Expect temps above 100 degrees.

Thanks.. In June no less!!

When you get to Minneapolis, hit the Mississippi river roads and follow it south all the way to Wabasha, MN then cross into Wisconsin @ Nelson, WI and head east from there. after Red wing, MN is where the road gets really good going south.
Beautiful road, and very very popular with bikes. Its a must ride road for the state.

Check out the route on google maps, to know the best route down. (sorry not good with road numbers)

I think MN has more miles right next to the river than sconi does, but you MUST stop @ nelson cheese in nelson, wi. Great Ice cream, great sandwiches, great cheese, its an all around great stop. It is filled with bikes in the summer months.

You left out Hawaii! LMAO!!

I could tell you so many place to go to in the South WI / North IL area, that you could spend a whole week riding up there.

Only advise I can give is just keep an eye on the weather in the general direction you are heading for the day and look a few days in the direction that you will be going.

Working on the Hawaii thing

I see you have DC for day 2, couple things we have some of the worst traffic in the nation, just watch yourself because other won't. Give me a shout when your in the area, I work in DC typically and only live 30 mins from DC.

Yes DC traffic is terrible. I was there last summer, could not believe that cluster!!!

Awesome trip man. That is some serious miles. As someone stated- keep a keen eye on the weather ahead. While in California, you can lane split as well.

I can't imagine trying to lane split with our bikes. Remember that Old Fart that swung out and hit that couple trying to pass ? Too many reasons not to IMO. But that's legal in CAL ? Not sure I get that..

Lane splitting.. Yes or no? . This video and all the rest prove my fears.. Cagers are not and will never be aware of their 360 circle. They are only concerned in getting where they want to go. Coupled with the rage of bikes blowing thru traffic and getting where the cage cannot people will do stupid things. The only way I'd consider it is with a dedicated smaller lane and I know that's not practical sooooo. I stay off the freeway.

In Utah you should look at extending your ride to go into and through Zion NP (worth the ride) out the back you can take Utah Hwy 89 toward the 70 and then back to the 15. Better scenery than the 15 but longer.

Yeah, I know, if you've never or seldom done it (lane SHARING, as it's called in CA), seems crazy- and it can be. I go slow, high beams, and flashers on, engine guard pegs folded up. The reason I don't commute on my bike is that if I leave San Jose headed home anywhere from 3- 6PM (about 75 miles one way), I end up lane sharing for about 20 miles- no way! Too much white-knuckling for me. Some of the rice burners scream through the cars (absolutely ignorant), and the BMWS just grease right on through. It's just a way of life out here, you get used to it.
