Flat rear tire not sure when it happened

So Wednesday afternoon, after about 20 minutes of riding going back to work, I take the off ramp and stop at the intersection, and the back end feels all spongy. I turn left and sure enough, I can tell it's flat.

I've got the FOBO and checked the pressure about 45 minutes before and everything was good. Only thing, on my Android phone unless the app stays running the alarm doesn't sound. Not a big deal since the phone is in the bag usually anyway.

The rest of the back story is that this is a new tire put on about 900 miles, 3 weeks ago. When I checked the invoice line items, there is nothing for a new valve stem. Sure enough, this is where the leak was coming from.

Got the warranty repair done and it's all good now.

Well a learning experience I guess and happy it all ended well. Better then being out in the middle of no where and waiting for a couples hours for help

Glad it didn't cause a wreck...
How did you fix it ? Did you have a plug kit on you? Just curious as I've got one but never had to use it.

Had the same thing happen to my truck tire. New tire and flat the next day, they replaced the valve stem to fix.

Hog member tow and warranty repair at a nearby dealer. They replaced the valve.

A few years back, riding my Heritage Classic, I had a nail go into the tire and out the sidewall.....long damn nail. It cost me $350 to replace the tire, and a day off work to trailer it to a dealer. This is just further proof that ya gotta LOVE riding to take the risk and problems.

Not that this would have helped a valve stem leak but I put this in my tires, 2oz more in each and you can take off the ugly wheel weights. Ride-On

True that. Time away from work always costs. Gotta love riding.

So if your not near a metro area were you can call the man. What's the best choice for a repair kit?
A can of slime or plugs with co2s

I carry both, either way you'll have to replace the tire and if you can get it ride-able to get you to repair station - go for it!

Mojo, 2 repair kits. For sure, for sure. Better safe than sorry though. Any recommendation as to brand?

This is what happened to me a couple month ago. My CVO rims have the chrome Valve cap with the o-ring in them, was cleaning her up and unscrewed the valve cap to check tire pressures and when I screwed the cap back on the o-ring got side ways and pushed down on the stem gradually, of course I didn't know this well the next morning, rear flat tire. Lesson learned on that One!
