Does anyone have advice on removing the Fork Lock Switch on a 2016 CVO Street Glide?
Trying to install the accessory switch panel on the dash, and following the service manual, but the mechanical actuator for on the underneath is not present. Just wondering if anyone has tried this yet? Thanks in advance.

Isn't that similar than "normal" 2016 street glide? I removed my switch because i installed my heat grips...after watching very good video from youtube. I try to do it by myself before that video 2 hours and it really drives me crazy! I still don't understand how that locking system works and hopefully never have to take it out again...

Fork lock switch removal

I've taken this panel off twice, first adding Yaffe monkey bars and later on adding the switch panel for auxiliary running lights. First raise your bike with a lift so the steering moves freely, then drape a good size microfiber cloth over the front of the gas tank. Remove the two Allen bolts that hold the switch panel in place, turn your switch to the lock position, unplug both wiring connections from behind the panel. Take your time, go slow and maneuver the panel out while moving the handle bars side to side. It can be done easily on the 2014 - 2016's for sure.

The switch is easy to remove but don't move the forks while it's out or you will need a special tool to put it back. I got mine back together with a screwdriver but solving Rubik's cube is easier.

getting the front wheel up is key. You need the bars to move fully from side to side

Yeah, temporarily screwed mine up royally a couple of years ago. There is a sequence in the service manual and it must be followed to a tee! If you move anything while the lock switch is off of the bike, the tumblers in the lock mechanism on the bike move and you are severely hosed. When doing work up front, I have removed the tank all together rather than having to take the ignition lock out.

I knew there was a difference... I didn't know what it was.....

You need the supplemental manual for the fork lock ignition switch... I just happened to find the pics for you!

DO NOT MOVE YOUR FORKS FROM THE POSITION THEY ARE IN ONCE YOU REMOVE YOUR IGNITION....

This is VITAL to ensure you can re-install the switch without disturbing the tumblers from the correct position.

Hope this helps...

I would save a screenshot of these for future reference for CVO owners.... if it works... let us know
