I had an interesting dilemma this week on my 2018/Milwaukee 8 that I've never encountered before. I wanted to pass this along for some of you "just in case":
I went on a 2-3 hour ride and I noticed about 3/4 way thru that my engine was idling at about 1,800 RPM! I could force it downward by twisting the throttle grip fwd a bit (past the normal idle position). Once I got home I went to my HD Service manual the there it was on page 5-15 . . . . . . . .
In order to reset all of this stuff to normal you will have to set the handlebar switch to "Run". Then turn the ignition switch to the "On" position for about 10 seconds and then to the "Off" position for about another 10 seconds. DO NOT START THE BIKE! This On and Off procedure must be repeated for a total of four times. Then your throttle position sensor will be back to normal.
Done! I patted myself on the back 4 times!!!
NOTE: For any of you that do not have this manual (2017 & up) or the 2014 thru 2016, I will post them for download from my Dropbox until MAY 1st. These files are large and save as PDF files. Your welcome in advance!
