Rinehart Pipes

I have the 4" Rinehart pipes and i like the deep sound but i want to take the fiberglass wrap off. My question is i know it would be more heat on the pipes but would it tarnish the chrome?

It shouldn’t hurt the chroma at all.

Bear in mind that the glass will start to burn out on it's own and after about 5K miles most slip on muffs will deepen in sound and only get better with age.
