I just had my 10k service done at the dealership. The tech talked me into 60w oil for the engine. I've used synthetic in all my bikes and cars. I live in So. Florida and he says that 60w is better in this area in the summer then synthetic. Any opinions?

Funny as I was looking for 60w over the weekend as you know it's been super hot so far this year in S Florida. What dealer were you at? What brand did they use? Was it straight 60w or multi viscosity?

Last where do ya live maybe we can meet up someday.

Based on the viscosity of 20w-50 synthetic oil, I would not want to run it at much over 260 F. Full synthetic oil can go beyond 300 F without hurting the oil but it is just too thin to lubricate well.

I would run Red Line 20W60 motorcycle oil if you are getting your oil over 260 F often.

I've never heard this before but I prefer my multi-viscosity oil.
