So good ppl, I found out I'm deploying to Afghanistan soon and will storing the bike. What are some things I need to do before putting her away for 12 months?

I would suggest disconnecting the battery. Although the bike won't be on, simply having the battery connected still draws a little bit of power which can overtime deplete the battery life.

Fuel Stabilizer in the gas (something like Stabil), use pure gas, no ethanol for fill up if possible, disconnect battery or put on maintenance charger like battery tender if possible, change fluids when you get ready to start her back up.
