2008 Alarm issue??

My buddy has a 2008 SG. It has been sitting for a while. He went to start is and all that happened was the lights flashing. Nothing else at all. It has the alarm on it. He changed the batteries in both key fobs. I thought I read that the key fobs can loose the code for the alarm after they sit for a while. Is that true and can they be reprogrammed? He bought the bike used so I don't believe he knows the PIN.

The main battery for the bike under the seat is probably almost dead. Charge it up and have him try starting it again.

He did replace the battery. He still has the same issue.

Ok, just found out he just charged the old battery. I will have t get it on a tester to see if it is still good.

My 16 SGS is only like 4 months old. I went 3 weeks without riding, and mix that with the cold weather, and my bike wouldn't start. Starter wouldn't even crank. Had to charge it, and all is well, but I ordered a battery tender to keep it from dropping
