Is the Street Glide Really That Hard to Beat for Touring?

The more bikes I ride, the more I keep coming back to the Street Glide. There's just something about it that makes long days on the road feel right. That said, I was reading this touring bike comparison and it got me thinking. For anyone who's spent serious miles on both, was there anything about the BMW RT that made you consider switching, or did you end up sticking with the Street Glide? Curious to hear some real rider experiences.

Interesting, our police department just switched to BMW. Not sure why??

I had a 2021 BMW 1250RT and while it was a great bike, very smooth and quick I just could not get comfortable on long rides. It was the position of the highway pegs that I couldn't get used to. I sold it and bought a 2018 Ultra Limited. Problem solved.
