2016 FLHXS 4k miles Broken Shock!!!

Hi there im new on here please help...
my babie 2016 FLHXS 4000miles lovely bike,yesterday i take out and when im exit freeway my left saddlebag drop down and rear wheel loss control Thanks God im exit freeway and low speed also i try my best to stop...once i stop and look on the back wheel the left rear shock broken half...call tow and call HD dealer but they just replace my left shock and say maybe my left saddlebag,if any you guys out there got this happen please help what can i do or how can i file claim thank you and god bless ride safe...

Wow ! Glad you were exiting and were able to control it !
First I've heard of that. I guess it was a stock shock ? Did you have any vibration during those 4k miles ? No doubt Harley will fix but.. Glad you were OK..
 
Now might be a oppertune time to seek aftermarket shocks!

it vibration at 3k miles but i check around verything looking good to me,yes it stock shock ...but i have a question cause the shock broken so the HD fix it but HD they not going to fix my saddlebag

Get the Ohlins 022 shocks. Much better ride. Fuel Moto, a sponsor here sells 'em.

I'm sorry but how does this happen on a 25K bike? Isn't there some sort of quality control checkpoint during production or am I being naive?

If the factory shock failed and in turn took out your saddle bag, I don't see how the dealer could not cover it. Its still under the factory warranty right? If they won't replace both, file complaints with HD, The Better Business Bureau and the Bureau of Regulatory Agencies ....good luck
 
The shock broke and there is no doubt anything rider did and it's under warranty so I will definitely press hard with dealer. Also reach out to other HD dealership in your area to see if something like that happen what all is cover. Try to get that in writing by using email instead so they can't get out of it. Wow, good thing you came out of this with just torn up bag, this is crazy, that's definitely a faulty shock.

Sh!t happens and there is no such thing as 100% quality control so this type of thing will happen. HD dealer should step up and treat you right and get you taken care of if not go directly to HD manufacturer, I am sure they'll handle it without any issue and deal with that dealership in your area.
