I have a 2020 Street Glide Special and the paint on the air cleaner and cam cover are showing wear like marks and the bike only has 200 or so miles on it. I have had many bikes and a lot of black bikes and they had clear coat on the fairings and fenders etc. Just like a car you could rub out a scratch or get the bugs off without a issue. I am almost afraid to clean the black lowers if they get bugs this summer. Had anyone come up with any ideas. I was thinking about getting a collision shop to paint all the black trim parts with a car type finish with a thick durable clear coat or maybe powder coating? Looking for ideas. Thanks in advance.
