Do you need to add the amp for these to sound good? I was almost thinking of replacing my fairing speaker with these and put the current stock ones on the tourpak I just purchased. Thanks.

The standard HD amp drives these well
I grabbed a pair of these off eBay for $100 basically half price of HD parts catalogue. I did not want to spend big bucks on amps and such. I will say these speakers are quite an improvement over stock. On the Slab @ 80-85 mph with ear plugs and at 3/4 volume I can hear reasonably well. On back roads at 62 or so mph it's all good. An excellent alternative to us who prefer to adhere to our budget.

Let me know if you don't get these as I will. I had an issue with my iPhone and sound on the sled today to where I could barely hear the sound and then it kicked in while turned up almost full blast and I think I tore the left speaker as it now sounds like crap.
