Anti-Gun lawmakers Introduce Gun Confiscation Bill in Georgia
With a complete disregard for the U.S. Constitution and the fundamental rights of Georgia residents, state Representative Mary Margaret Oliver (D-82) introduced House Bill 731 which would ban commonly owned semi-automatic firearms and require their confiscation.
HB 731 would ban the possession, sale, transport, and distribution or use of certain firearms defined as “assault weapons” based entirely on cosmetic features. This legislation would also prohibit arbitrarily-defined “large capacity magazines,” that typically come standard with all firearms as well as .50 caliber cartridges. As proven by the failed 1994 Clinton Gun ban, this misguided legislation would have no effect on crime and would only affect law-abiding gun owners in Georgia, potentially turning them into criminals overnight.
HB 731 goes even further than just banning so-called “assault weapons” and “large capacity magazines.” This bill would require seizure of these firearms by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. This is the true intention of anti-gun groups, and it flies in the face of the consistently regurgitated lie from the Obama Administration that “nobody wants to take your guns away.”
Please contact Representative Mary Margaret Oliver and voice your disapproval of her support of confiscating guns from law-abiding citizens. Contact information for Representative Oliver is below:

I received this info from the NRA-ILA.
I have called her office at the Capitol, her legal office and sent this email:
I am sorry to see you have proposed House Bill 731. As a Georgia resident I want to ask you to reconsider this bill. It goes against the Constitution of the United States and smacks of Marxism. Please reconsider.
Thank you,
I have also emailed my Congressman and Senator.
Mary Margaret Oliver is a representatve of district 82, Gwinnett County. The county is named for Button Gwinnett, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
Imagine that. Her county namesake signed the Declaration of Independence. She is a traitor to her nation, her state, and her home town.
