Gloves

Does anyone else have problems with wearing gloves? I have noticed that no matter what glove I have tried, my hands always hurt. If I don't wear gloves, my hands don't hurt. I have gone through about 20 pairs of different manufacturers and types but still nothing. Some do hurt more than others, but now are pain free. With cold weather coming on, I don't know what to do! Any advice is welcome.

Explain to what you are referring to as "hurt"? If you are wearing ones that your fingers are not reaching properly and hurting then you'll need to get bigger size....keep in mind all gloves need to stretch to fit correctly, at least all minds are. One in particular, I have to wear it when I go to sleep in order to stretch it to fit comfortably. The more you wear them the better they fit on your, you can say they form fit your hands. I have also wear them and make a fist then place the other hand with glove over it to stretch, I keep doing that to stretch it out every traffic light I stop at and while I am home watching TV.

Hope you find a gloves that will fit you, I don't ride without gloves or helmet.

I've had gloves that are too tight, and end up hurting, but like Dragon said, you have to stretch them out. I have some really big paws(XXL), and it's hard to find ones that fit correct around the hand, plus allow for long finger length. Try Mechanix gloves, especially the Fast Fit line...they stretch and are very comfortable.

I tend to get pain in a ring around where my thumb joint meets my palm. It is a ring of pain....not just a point. Every pair has done this. The best pair so far is a thin deer skin glove. The fingers are a bit too long but they have been the best so far. Also, I can't imagine they will be much good when it really gets cold.

Your best bet is to go to a good motorcycle shop and let them fit you in a pair of gloves that will work, make sure you tell them where you are having issue with gloves and they'll suggest the best pair of gloves that will fit you. Also make sure if you happen to get a pair one size larger the gloves have some type of adjustable band (Velcro or snap or buckle) by the wrist to keep them snug and during cold season you can always wear warm thin liner like Freeze-out or silk and you are good to go.

Properly made motorcycle gloves have pre-curved fingers to fit in the "grip" position without effort. They won't bunch-up or wrinkle on the inside between your hands and the grips.

Most gloves are not made this way. The average person will not buy them because they feel a little weird wearing them off the bike.
