I have the ride planner app on my phone. Can I download a planned ride directly from my phone to the boombox or do I have to fire up the laptop and put the planned ride on a USB?

I've been working the same task today. I think you either have to put the ride planner route on a usb and import.
I tried to import the route using the iPhone app, but the motorcycle system said that the phone did not have any files available to import.
I had hoped I could just use the phone app as my navigator, but it doesn't have that functionality.

I was hoping I could download the planned ride from my iPhone also.

I had absolutely no luck with HD ride planner and Boom system. What I imported from a flash drive wasn't what came up on the GPS for directions.
Spend days on trying different ways to try and figure out what the heck was going on. I lost.

It just continues to amaze me how completely FUBAR the new Harley infotainment implementation has been from the get go. I get the fact that "you should just get on and ride so who cares if the new system works easily or not" line of thinking that is prevalent but if that was the case and Harley is not going to make any real effort to make their system user friendly and easy to import/export then maybe along that same line of thinking the MoCo should just give it to us for free......as silly as that sounds it's not really too much different position than the MoCo seems to be taking in terms of supporting their customers.....LMAO

BTW.....don't ask me how I feel about this subject:rolleyes:

Amen Bro, if only they would get up to date with the tech.

What amazes me coming from the High Tech industry is that if this was Apple/Samsung/etc.... with this kind of inadequate, non-customer friendly system they would have teams working around the clock, around the world coming up with a new software platform, and setting up software developers forums to drive 3rd party apps that make the system indispensable to a buyer and therefore keeping them from going anywhere else......but then again Harley electronics technology have never been leading edge.......more like trailing edge.....OK I'm done now no more with the negative waves.....sorry!!!

I had one route transfer magically. Since then though, I'm like 1 for 10 on getting a route to successfully import or export.
I have a big trip coming up and wanted to setup a pre-planned route - but I've been unsuccessful so far at getting the entire route imported to my bike. Oh well- exploring new roads is all part of the adventure, right?
