"I don't care"

I have had close calls like that in my day...but never got hit.... LUCKILY FOR THEM...

Passing at the double line-stupid. But really who hasn't when you are young and bullet proof?
Crossing the double yellow to deliberately hit the biker, attempted murder I would bet.
But that's my opinion and I can guarantee someone will think the old guy has the right to do that.

The 2nd part of that video was when the other rider told the cager he had hit the other bike and the cager replied "I don't care".....he was pretty cold and calculating....

Scary part is the old guy thinks he is right and it was right for him to do that...

To me the driver looks and acted drunk. The reports that the girl had a broke arm & leg, they will recover.

Disgusting is all I can say. You should never move anything in an accident before it's been investigated unless the potential for loss of life is there.

That guy is a asshole! I hope they charge him with attempted vehicular manslaughter. And what was up with him continually digging in his ass..

I've been following this thread since posted and let it stew in my old brain for a bit. I have several thoughts to share:
1) Car driver was texting and it was a coincidence.
2) Car driver does not like motorcycles
3) Car driver does not like assholes on motorcycles
4) Car driver is an old Harley rider that hates rice bikes
5) Car driver just wanted to scare rice bike rider but went over the
line (no pun)
6) Car driver lives just over the hill on the same road. Is sick of this
particular rice riding pr!ck going past his house at 100mph plus
making all kind of racket and is worried about his little kids who
ride bikes up and down the driveway and dometimes like to help
Moma get the mail or take a walk along the road. Car driver is fed
up and over the edge.
7) Car driver is father of teenage daughter who's BF rides rice and is
fed up with his daughter tight little a$$
pumped up on the air on the back of said rice burner.
I suggest there is more to the story than is presented on video

Stay in his lane BIG bright yellow double lines on the floor for a reason. There is no manslaughter charges or murder charges in USA for accidents like that. It's a ticket to the cager...wake up people. Live to ride another day. 1st 5 seconds of the video I thought he is to close to that car and to close to the yellow line, then... ya glad he is ok.

1) Car driver was texting and it was a coincidence.
2) Car driver does not like motorcycles Does this make attempted murder acceptable?
3) Car driver does not like assholes on motorcycles The guy on the crotch rocket may be stupid, what makes him a asshole?
4) Car driver is an old Harley rider that hates rice bikes This makes attempted murder acceptable?

fed up with his daughter tight little a$$ pumped up on the air on the back of said rice burner. Again, proven how?

So I guess the rest of the story is you believe the old guys attempt at murder is acceptable. I knew it wouldn't take long for somebody on these forums to find a way to justify the old guys behavior.
On edit: I've been a career firefighter 21 years: I've seen way more old bastards living a mid-life crisis, cruising on their street glide or geezer glide, after never owning a bike, impaled by cable posts, dissected by guard rails, embedded so deep in the back of a car it takes a garden hose to wash them out then I have ever have an idiot on a crotch rocket.

If you dial up YouTube and type in motorcycle fails 95% + Are rice rockets.
Two weeks ago we were riding beautiful Minnesota back woods fall colors in 88* temps. An anomaly. I was in the lead with my cruise set at 60 mph in a 55 zone. Couple of cages ahead of me and we are all keeping pace enjoying the day. Two Rice rockets come from behind and pass us all and I swear to God they were rocking 150mph with their little girls a$$es up in the air. Now we are in thick woods and heavy deer country. These guys bring it on themselves and make bad for the total of the biking community.

How do you know it was an old guy driving?

If you notice my maybes are scenarios. Not saying I believe just presenting some situations. Bikers can have a tendency to piss people off. Of course retaliation should never be an option. Presented as scenarios these situations are not necessarily my beliefs and I take exception on the fact this is not realized.
This is a friendly forum and we all have differences of opinion which is expected. It is possible to realize that it always takes two to Tango and just maybe take a moment to get inside the cagers mind to try to understand the big picture. This is not to say there are rights or wrongs just considerations. To jump to conclusions without sound facts is usually not constructive. Think of a Lynch Mob.

I respect and admire your position as a firefighter. I have many life long friends that are firemen and Law Enforcement. I don't see the need for a personal attack.

I agree, but there is as much justification for that behavior as there would be me backing out of my drive attempting to hit the Harley guy that goes by every night because he has loud pipes and wakes my kids...

I think in general, people just have shorter fuses. Frankly, people scare me whether I'm on my bike, in a car, or just walking through Walmart. It seems the social contract as we know it is deteriorating at a rapid pace. Some people don't have a filter, others no moral compass. I don't think there's any one cause but just a crumbling of our society. It scares me what measures will be put in place to correct that. Maybe the guy was having a horrible day and that was the last straw. I've had some crappy days at work that made me think of running some idiot over but my upbringing and moral compass stopped it as just a passing thought. A lot of people don't have that common sense enabled in them. Stay safe out there.
