Just issued RECALL on 2017 models

I was actually at the dealership when they got the notice about this and checked mine but it was all good.

I just checked mine. The left clamp is black and the right clamp is silver. Neither one looks like a spring clamp. They both look kind of like hose clamps, but with out the tightening screw. In other words, they look like they were tightened and locked with a tool. Does anyone have a pic of the spring clamp that is wrong that they can post.
I had some time to kill and stopped in to the dealership for free popcorn.
Service guy comes over and tells me they just got the recall that day and if I had a couple minutes they'd check it out right away.
They got it in and out and said everything was cool.

To me that's what a recall is so I expected them to replace the clamps. A 2 minute "inspection" would not have been good enough for me.
A recall is them replacing the part no matter what? Any company would go broke if they replaced every good part as well as the bad ones. This case is something small and wouldn't hurt them much to replace but like I said, they came out inspected the clamps while they were installing an update on my bike.

That's the way I see it, when I shell out 25-30k for a motorcycle it's not my problem if they go broke because of installing crap parts. Yes, I think they ALL should be replaced because if some have failed then how in the hell is 20 second inspection good enough to say "oh it's good". Just my take on it.
Mine was leaking oil when i first got it Oct. Took it in at less than 80 miles and they fixed it then. I've got over 3900 miles on it now and have no problems. Not a lot of miles by some folks standards, but so far so good.

I inspected my oil line clamps and did not see anything abnormal. I will be having the dealer inspect it again in another 150 miles for my first service. But, I have to say, I think it was a really a low end way that Harley did on this. These lines should have been braided stainless lines with threaded connectors from the start. Particularly since they are directly behind the front tire and subject to potential debris from the roadway being thrown up by the front tire.
I'm very dissatisfied with Harley about this issue. I believe it was just a money saving financial cut by Harley. They even use braided stainless on the oil lines from the oil tank on my Breakout. I am actually going to research a way to install some braided stainless lines with threaded connections on the oil cooler.
I still love the bike, but IMO this is cheapo and potentially dangerous.
