All,
What do you all use for riding goggle, I read about photochromic/transitional eyewear and want to know if anyone is using it and how they like it. I mainly want to use it when I am riding with my 3/4 helmet. I don't have any room inside my helmet to fit anything even my reading glasses so I have to use the one with the band.

Any info/suggestions are much appreciated!

A lot of riders like using BikesrRx on the web to order glasses but unfortunately they could not get mine correct. I bought a pair from my local Pearle Vision and I'm very happy with them. They are transition and progressive prescription. The brand I got is Liberty Sport. Other very popular brands are WileyX (which I tried to get from BikersRx) and 7Eye. Most popular brands offer the strap instead of the temples. I will say that BikersRx was absolutely great to work with and they get good reviews, but just couldn't get my prescription right.

I need goggle type as I do not have any room in my helmet for glasses type pieces that go over my ears on both sides. I like the option of Rx but not necessary as long as it will change from light to dark (Photochromic/Transition) so I don't have to worry about changing my riding glasses.

Word to the wise here Wiley X glasses are cool but if you break the frames they won't warrantee them or you have to fight for a year to get them replaced. Never had a pair myself because they give me the fish bowl effect while trying them. Have several employees who have had issues with their safety glasses from Wiley X and the frames don't hold up. Same wraparound frames you get for riding. As far as the googles I haven't looked into the photo gray or prescriptions in googles before so no help sorry.

I have some Wiley X transitional eyewear. Although comfortable, they do not transition enough to be effective and they're expensive! 2.5 stars out of 5 ! :(

Mojo, I have these too and the Wiley-X Rep. told me by phone to order them "EXTRA ACTIVE". I did this and they turn very dark in sunlight while turning mostly clear in the evening. Gravity was my selection with progressive Rx. No distortion at all, best set up I've ever had.

I've had mine about 4 years, I don't recall "Extra Active as an option back then, sheeesh-I'm old!

To clarify, seems I called the Wiley-X lab concerning Rx lenses I planned to order through my VSP vision insurance. I voiced concern their Wiley-X "Light Adjusting" over the counter eyeglasses didn't transition dark enough. The Rep. said buy your frames at HD, take to your eye doctor, have them send your updated Rx requesting "Extra Active". The Rep. indicated the VSP lab will most likely send the order over to the Wiley-X lab for production. The Gravity wrap around lenses in a progressive Rx could have been a bust, but they pulled it off. About $90 for the frames and $191 for lenses after the VSP benefit.

perhaps this is off track, but i have a Shoei RF-1200 helmet....a full face helmet, that Shoei makes a Transitions shield for. It works great, goes from clear to almost black in about 30 secs.

You are definitely right, I have Shoei full face helmet also but I am mainly looking for when I am riding with my 3/4 or half helmet and don't want to deal with any shield.
