Well.. 4th surgery on same knee.... more damage than suspected prior to going in. Got at least 8 weeks with no weight bearing at all...

Medial and lateral meniscus had multiple tears and scar tissue buildup from previous 3 surgeries.

Femoral cartilage had full width lesion over 1" long 1/2" wide. Microfractive drilling was done here ( drilled over 200 holes within the lesion)

Patella cartilage severely worn...

Debreement was done throughout to remove all scar tissue... all bone spurs removed... all cartilage scraped and reshaped if possible.... tears we cut free and cleaned....

Let's see how this goes....

Damn that doesn't sound fun at all. Here's to a speedy recovery, I'll have a beer for you ;)

If I lived close enough we'd be taking pictures in your hospital room of empty beer cans ;)

Lol! I'm home already... 0900 surgery and home by 2pm....just got my CPM machine delivered. Now I'm strapped down to it and it does all the work...0-40 degrees flexion/extension.. nonstop. This setting for 2 days... then I increase 5 degrees at a time ( until I feel pain). This goes for 3 weeks... oh what fun!!!

Been there, done that...same knee....but I was up and at em in SIX weeks...but hey I was Air Force...what can I say....hehehe....get well fast bro....got some riding to do...

Enjoy the down time, hopefully that machine helps the recovery. My brother just had open heart surgery and got frozen shoulder from being laid up so long, they had to knock him out and dislocate the shoulder, ouch. Just remember, ease up on the beers when doing pain killers and stay hydrated or you'll be giving birth to a Chevy Suburban in 4 days, lol.

Maybe you could synch your FP3 to that contraption and make it move smoother...hahaha!!

Get well soon my brother maybe I will swing up there and keep ya occupied for a day maybe wheel chair races I'll see if I can find a few lol

Get well soon Brother...........I spent a full year without walking after a motorcycle accident (HOG Group) almost 10 years ago. broken leg, ****ty surgeon and 6 more operations to repair his mistakes. It can be a long process and you will want to throw that F**king CPM machine out the window but in the end I'm sure you will appreciate your time in the seat more than ever.....hoping you'll get back on that bad boy sooner than you think:cool:

BTW.....I'm never gonna ride with fecking rookies again.......why they let brand new riders ride in close formation I'll never understand......all I can say is if you are riding in your local HOG group..............Ride in the back row :D

Geez, didn't know this was coming. How the hell ya get so tore up in the first place?
At least up here it would be the end of the riding season.
Wishing for you a fast and full recovery with no lingering garbage on the tail end.
On the up side........for me........more time for you to answer all my mod questions. Hahahaha!

Hey Spazz, sure hope the doctor's did you some good and your recovery goes faster than expected. Keep us posted man!

Lol!!!! No faster... trust me!

To answer a few questions...

I blew out my knee in 2003 while active duty in The Marines and had 3 surgeries between 2003-2005... last one being the best to 'fix' me. Since then, scar tissue and developing degenerative arthitis, it just got worse and starting falling apart in other areas of my knee . I put it off as long as I could, but some days I could barely walk.... so... here I am....

I watched a video of that machine working and making noise and knowing Spazz the way I do we better get him a project before he re wires that thing and replaces the rolling bearings and gears lol. I will be up to see you soon I'm sure and sneak in a 12 pack or two to keep you going.

You know if you need anything give me a call anytime.
