Splitting the USB on the Boum Audio system

Has anyone done this? I put a USB splitter in the fairing connected to the stock USB cable (I pulled it out of the compartment). From there, I ran a new USB into the compartment and ran a lightning cable to my phone mount. Initially it worked but now it appears to be not connecting properly. In fact, its not charging my phone anymore. the cable is good though?

Any thoughts? HAs anyone split the USB successfully?

BTW I ride a 2018 Street Glide Special. I love it. Traded in an '07 Road King Classic. HUGE DIFFERENCE

I would try another cable first to rule that out. Not all USB's are the same. IOS phone's are very finicky when it come to lightening cables as well. Apple is propriety in what is used. Cheap lightening cables usually don't allow charging. Good luck with it...

thanks for the tip. Funny thing is, the cable worked for a week or so. Now not charging the phone nor is the Boum audio recognizing my phone. Music is playing through bluetooth and as you know, not as loud as if it was connected.

I also tried the cable with a regular charger, and it was charging the phone with no problem.

Thats whats driving me nuts
