Just throwing this out there... I wanted a different look on my vivid black... but wasn't sure how it would turn out and if I would like it any better... so I bought a roll of red 1/8" pinstripe to go over the silver... I LIKE IT! So now I will have it painted on when the time comes...

Simply genius! I might do something like this with my vivid black SG.

That looks really good too.

I've been thinking about that same thing on the Big Girl. I picked up a front fender from a SGS and although the pin stripe is silver and a little different pattern it's also a little thinner.
Was thinking about a matte orange. If a guy liked it I wonder what they'd charge to just go over the existing stripes.

I just covered the factory silver on the RGS... took about an hour

If it grows on me... there are several pro-striping guys that will do the hand painting for me for a couple hundred

Looks good Spazz!

Just what I needed.......something else to do to the bike! I've been thinking of adding another stripe inside of the silver???? Maybe a red or light blue? I'll post pics when I get around to doing it!

Seen a sled with red next to the silver... it looks too busy for me...but it's a personal preference... go for it... IT'S ONLY $4...LMAO!

Also... food for thought... matte black over the silver.... I've thought about it..

Works for me Spazz especially with the red calipers!

Nice work spazz, of course the flat black already had the red. My buddies did the same thing, great for decision making.

1 has the 2015 light blue I call it, pinned it out with red, while blacking out some trim. He's debating.

Coolest 1, is the flat black guy, did a gloss black over the red, wicked contrast. Gloss stripes on the flat black.

A lot you can do with a couple bucks in tape!

I did a similar thing to my '09 several years ago.
Red Hot SunGlo paint and I wanted flames, so I toyed with some cheap pinstripe I had lying around.

Here's the reflective pinstripes on the wheels......

This is what I ended up with...... metallic vinyl off ebay.... $27.

I liked the screamin' eagle type graphic the seller had, so I ordered some of them......

The cool thing about this project is that it's completely removable. When I did remove them, a few years later, there was remnants of a "Ghost Flame" from sun fading the rest of the paint but the vinyl protected some areas and gave a very FAINT ghost flame effect. Trying to locate a pic of it.

I also played with the reflective pinstripe that was left over from the wheels.......... put that on the full-face helmet...... for greater visibility and safety.

While on the topic of visibility and safety............
I added some BLACK reflective stripe to the flat black tour pak.... which is virtually invisible in daylight .

Once again, cheap and removable. I added that BLACK reflective tape to the sides of the floor boards, mirror ends and the base of the windshield. Couldn't even see it in the daylight.

Always good to have some extra visibility..... I was busted up by a cager back in '88. She turned left onto me as we crossed an intersection at about 50 mph. Claimed she never saw me. Yeah, I like to be seen, now. Took many months to heal the numerous broken bones and injuries I sustained.
A borrowed (it was cold out) full-face helmet saved my life.... as my head hit the curb when I landed on the other side of the intersection. Only the face bar was intact .... top of helmet split from the front to the back.
