Hi Guys,

I am new to the group and would like to know if anyone is having an issue with loosing oil.

I purchased a 2017 in October of last year and left it at HD.

I did this because I wanted to do a bunch of work over the winter.

I changed out the front end to chrome, the inside faring changed to color match the bike, a new CVO seat, chrome mirrors installed, the chrome trim package installed for the faring, heated grips to match, added the chrome special rear floor boards for my wife also had the 4 1/2" screaming eagles slips ons installed, lastly the electronic dip stick, which now I hear mixed things about.

After that was done I had the oil cooler with the fans installed, according to the service manger it would give the engine even better performance and would run much cooler in the summer months.

Ok that said I had the first 1,000 mile HD service, and at $499.00 I think it was a joke, but I did it anyway and had the fluids changed to synthetic.
Now after putting 1200 miles on it riding average speed and touring, I checked the oil and it is not even registering in the stick. I have a brand new garage and the bike is kept in there. THERE IS ZERO oil on the bike and no drips on the floor anywhere, under the bike is completely dry and no signs of oil, nor any oil in the trailer when we transport them when we are away.

I also have a check engine light on and I am really pissed, on a brand new bike, any comments would be appreciated, or insight on as to what or why.

PS my 2012 Street Glide Special never leaked a drop or did I have to check it every 1000 miles

Thanks Guys

How fast did you lose the oil? Where was it on the dip stick other times you checked? Is it possible that when they changed the oil the dealership didn't add enough?

It's possible they didn't fill the oil up all the way and not sure with the new oil cooler it just might take a little more. I would get a couple quarts from the dealer so they know what's going on and top it off. Then I would keep a close eye on it and make sure you keep a record if level changes. Or have the dealer come pick it up and have them check it out.
