So I got caught in a big storm while I was returning from a trip this Sunday. My frogtoggs are more than 15 years old and leaked. They have been tossed out.

What are some recommendations for replacing them?

I've heard the HD upper-end suits work well, but in my opinion are way overpriced, and are likely made by less expensive manufacturers anyway. I went with the Tour Master Sentinel 2.0 jacket and pants, and Tour Master boot covers. Got caught in moderate rain for quite a while and they worked great. Haven't gotten caught in a downpour with these yet, though. I will say that I like the HD boot covers better because they have the rubber front sole, but they're about twice as expensive.

If your frogg toggs worked for 15 years, then why not get another set?
I have a River Road set- I've only put them to use a few times and have been satisfied with them.

I tried the cheapies without a lot of success. When the Premium suits went on sale at my dealers 3 years ago I jumped . . . . never leaked and I never looked back.

I purchased the extremely expensive high-end ones from Harley and the crotch seams leaked like crazy. My wife has the same suit and hers does not leak.
Just something to think about. If you go with a HD set you may want to bring them home and test all the seams.

Sgrider- you can exchange the suit with your dealer assuming its still fairly new. Mine does not leak either.

I bit the bullet and purchased the HD suit in the link.

Have worn it probably 6-8 times in the past year. Moderate to heavy rain the suit seems to be ok,however..

last spring heading to Jacksonville from SC I hit rain, heavy rain, rain so bad it filled my horn up.

Yes stock horn, stock location.

Had some moderate rain penetration along my neck and down the front of the jacket.

Wasn't wearing the rain pants as I was riding with dedicated touring pants that are "rainproof"

Overall I am satisfied with the HD rain suit.

My 2 cents.

I see no one has posted to this in over a year but i was wondering does anybody know where i might be able to find some gear for big guy's... i need about 5x or maybe 6x. i think the biggest is saw at HD online was a 5x but the dealerships in my area dont carry anything that big since I live in the dry dusty texas sands. most will not ride if it supposed to rain but im not most i usually just get soaked and change when i get home. i would like something i can toss in my bags and wear as needed.

I wore a set of Frog Togs through some pretty bad rain, hail, wind, then snow to and from Las Vegas and Colorado. I stayed dry the whole time. I just don't know what sizes they carry. And they roll into a pretty small bag.

Jimbo while I was on active duty (former Navy SEAL) we were issued foul weather gear called "peterstorm" for long boat transits etc. Works pretty good but you have to have something to keep you warm underneath. Its totally waterproof and lightweight. I have the farmer john style pants (suspenders) and the standard hooded parka, you can stow the hood in the collar. Just roll it up tight throw a rubber band around it and put it in your saddlebag. You can buy commercially just google it. Good piece of kit! R/Mike

First THANK YOU for your service.

Also thank you for the info. If it was used on the teams I am sure it is good stuff!!

Great post guys and thank you for some great insight ...I bought the HD Hi Vis Orange black ...my riding jacket is XXL so went one size up...XXXL..great fit, loose enough should I upgrade my anatomy. Now I have it it shouldn't rain all year
