Sold the "Witch" today.
Hated to see her go. I loved that bike. 15k in 18 months with no problems. Had her decked out how I liked it. But life's a moving picture. It all started when I spied the "Interloper" for sale on Ebay last Dec.
There she was, all orange and black and shiny. Just calling out to me. "Lets go for a ride, it'll be fun. No one will know". Well she ended up in the garage and then it started. How can I justify another bike. Well maybe the "Interloper" could be the around town, back and forth to work, afternoon run bike. The "Witch" could be the long haul bike, hmmmm. That might work. But I still had that nagging feeling there was too much overlap. Especially two that are so close in purpose. I mean both touring frames, both have bags. Sure one has fairing but that's still pretty close. What am I gonna do? I know. I can get a real long haul bike. Tour pak, lowers, twin cooled, (I've been obsessing about the twin cooled thing) yeah that's it, maybe an Ultra Limited.
Enter the "Big Girl".
So got her home and it started to get really tight in the garage. As I looked over the stable in the morning having my coffee I could sense the Big Girl was feeling a little down. I asked her what was wrong and she said "Does this tour pak make my rear end look big". I said "baby your built for comfort not for speed", but I don't think that helped any. So the next morning we started working out. A little off here, a little off there. Maybe some powder coating and walla.
I think she's looking pretty good. Still has some black forks to go on and new handle bars , but she's getting there.
And the Witch is gone and theres peace in the garage. For now. Hail Dorothy! Hmmmm, maybe I should change the name of the "Interloper" to "Dorothy".
